As Principal of BTW, Ellen is responsible for overall leadership of the firm, as well as directing  research and evaluation projects and organizational planning processes. Her areas of content expertise include organizational effectiveness, field building, community health, children and youth, community and economic development, education, service and civic engagement. Ellen is skilled at incorporating multiple perspectives into research and planning processes and in collecting and analyzing data that organizations can use to inform their planning and development.

Prior to joining BTW, Ellen consulted with Harder+Company Community Research and Communication Sciences Group. She consulted with nonprofits, philanthropy and public agencies on evaluation, applied research and social marketing projects.

An active volunteer and board member in the Rosa Parks School PTA, Ellen also served for many years on the board of the Japanese Community Youth Council.

Ellen holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Government from Cornell University.
