Ria directs and manages multiple evaluation and applied research projects, including overseeing the design, development, administration, analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data. In this capacity Ria, develops evaluation plans, designs data-collection tools, leads data collection and analysis efforts and prepares reports for BTW research and evaluation projects. As a Senior Associate, Ria is responsible for project management which includes developing and monitoring project budgets, tasks and timelines as well as supervising project staff.
Prior to her work at BTW, Ria focused on project management and education policy research. She managed a project on the college application process for low-income high school students at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. At the Public Policy Institute of California, Ria worked as an education research associate, researching and writing publications on various K-12 and higher education topics in California.
Ria’s areas of research experience include K-12 education finance, community colleges, California’s public university systems, and the college application and admissions process. She also has considerable experience with grants management and one-on-one student tutoring.
Ria holds an MPP, with a concentration in Domestic and International Education Policy from Georgetown University and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
